AboutEst. 1972
In 1996 Gary Sergeant decided to move to the quaint historic town of Woodbury, Connecticut and open his shop. The Woodbury gallery offers a remarkable atmosphere that immediately inspires excitement. The gallery is a converted period barn with vaulted ceilings, exposed beams and seven individual room settings. Each room has its own distinctive palate. Here you will be able to browse an ever changing inventory that has taken years of knowledge to assemble. You will find that there is continuity within a varied selection of period furnishings of English, American, Continental and Asian origins, dating from the 17th, 18th and early 19th centuries. G. Sergeant wants you to experience the individuality of each and every piece offered. Whether it is an architecturally important bookcase that you want or a special accent piece to complete a vignette that you desire, attention is always paid to the details and the unique needs of our customers. At G. Sergeant we are passionate about our collection of fine antiques. That is why designers, architects, museums, dealers and collectors have relied on the advice and expertise that G. Sergeant has offered for over thirty-three years.
Our passion is the discovery of unique and noteworthy antiques with specific attention paid to aesthetic appeal and function. Antiques should inspire delight. G. Sergeant hopes to do just that as well as take the doubt out of buying.
We at G. Sergeant offer a variety of services to customers. When you buy an antique, you are purchasing a tangible asset with a history and past. This is something that should bring joy and a sense of security for many years to come. Investing and consulting are our specialties. You may also need to locate antiques that G. Sergeant currently may not have in stock. It is our pleasure to assist our customers in locating that special piece or pieces.
Deborah Sergeant heads up our interior decorating division of G. Sergeant Antiques.
