Kapoor Galleries Inc, founded in 1975 by Ramesh and Urmil Kapoor, specializes in Indian and Himalayan art. For nearly five decades, the gallery has remained an invaluable resource for museum-quality works from India and the Subcontinent.
Under the continuing leadership of Ramesh Kapoor, the gallery has been instrumental in developing major museum and private collections worldwide. Works from Kapoor Galleries have entered the collections of The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Norton Simon Museum, Art Institute of Chicago, San Diego Museum of Art, and the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, among others.
Sanjay Kapoor, representing the fourth generation of the family, plays a leading role in the gallery’s operations, exhibitions, and global outreach. His efforts have expanded Kapoor Galleries’ presence across digital platforms and international networks, ensuring the gallery’s continued relevance in a modern art market.
Suneet Kapoor, who studied Indian Art at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), contributes his expertise to research and curation.
